Description
Our Mission --We inspire positive personal and community change by bringing people together around food and agriculture. --We partner with youth and people with low-incomes to create empowering individual & community food solutions. --We offer tools & trainings to help build a just & sustainable food system. GRuB is a non-profit organization based in Olympia, WA with the goal of ending hunger and empowering others to do so. We do this through multiple programs: 1) a partnership with Olympia High School that allows us to offer an alternative education experience for youth looking to earn credits through farming self, land and community 2) our Kitchen Garden Project that builds backyard gardens for residents of Mason and Thurston Counties, and 3) our education program where we host school groups and other organizations, providing farm tours and GRuB trainings. Our farm produces food for the Thurston County Food Bank, our youth and their families, and is sold along with flowers through a summer and fall CSA program, an on-site market stand, as well as a booth at a farmers market. Our work is done because of the service of a plethora of amazing volunteers, interns, work-study students, Americorps staff, youth alum and our dedicated core staff.
