Description

At Aharon's Heirlooms, I specialize in quality heirloom produce grown with organic methods. I have been growing and selling produce since 2004. I am a graduate of SEMO with a BS in Agri-Business Management with the option Plant and Soil Science. I raise veggies during the day and wait tables at Pagliai's Pizza At night. I have sold for years to local fine dining restaurants, including Celebrations, Mollies, New Orleans, California Juice Club and Port Cape. My wife and I bought a new house on 3 acres North of Cape in 2014. Since then I have planted apples, peaches, pears, blueberries and asparagus! In 2017 and beyond I will have those fruits and asparagus for sale also. I might have blackberries eventually if my wife will let me. Ha ha.. I sell to anyone interested not just restaraunts, but due to lack of time I don't do farmers markets much anymore. I use organic fertilizers such as seabird guano, blood meal, bone meal, fish emulsion and kelp extracts to raise vegetables that explode with flavor on your tastebuds. I My niche is organic heirloom varieties. I grow many old time strains that are hard to find and unique. My main crop is heirloom tomatoes. I grow many colored varieties besides red. Come to me for purple, yellow, orange, green, and striped tomatoes. I also grow organic fingerling potatoes in an array of colors as well. I have chimayo, poblano and bell peppers also. In spring and fall I grow arugula, lettuce, Swiss chard, cabbages, broccoli, pumpkins, and spinach. In mid summer I have serendipity sweet corn, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, onions and blueberries. My tomatoes usually ripen end of June to early July, and are available as long as the plants produce. In winter I make a few small batches of maple syrup. In 2015 I made homemade hot sauce which was amazing and in 2016 I started making old German style sauerkraut! If you want something unique and delicious this is the place. Thanks Aharon Reed
