Direct to Consumer - Grass Fed, Grass Finished Beef by the 1/2 or Whole Beef Our Cattle graze in Certified Organic Pasture and are finished on Certified Organic Alfalfa that is Non-GMO Project Verified, for a smooth, mellow, sweet tasting finished beef. We charge $4.10 per pound of the Hanging Weight of the Beef. Why Grass Fed? Grass-fed beef nutrition includes significantly more omega-3 fatty acids and more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than grain-fed beef. Grass-fed beef, one of the best protein foods around, is also higher in precursors for vitamin A and E and cancer-fighting antioxidants compared to grain-fed beef. CLA is a powerful polyunsaturated fatty acid we must obtain from our diets thats been shown to help fight cancer, discourage weight gain and build muscle, and high-quality grass-fed beef from healthy, grass-fed cows or other animals are the top sources of CLA. Certified Organic & Non-GMO Project Verified Feed Mill Coyote Creek is the only USDA Certified Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified feed mill in Texas. We produce complete feed rations for all types of livestock and we sell certified organic grains, legumes, and alfalfa pellets, as well as livestock supplements. By building a market for organic grains, Coyote Creek helps grow rural economies and keep small family farms in business, while providing the highest-quality feed available to farmers and backyard livestock enthusiasts. Coyote Creek organic feeds never contain GMOs, synthetic herbicides and pesticides, animal by-products, hormones, or pharmaceuticals. Coyote Creek feeds are blended for palatability and performance, resulting in a variety of benefits: -- For layer hens, egg production increases and flavor improves. -- For broiler/meat chickens, there is a more efficient feed to meat conversion ratio. -- There is lower mortality as a result of superior nutrition. -- It is a completely different product from conventional and "all natural" feeds. With Coyote Creek organic feeds, you can rest assured that your livestock are not being exposed to harmful chemicals that are used in conventional agriculture. In contrast to "natural" brands, Coyote Creek's organic certification and Non-GMO Project Verification ensure their high standard as every step of the process is certified: soil, seed, cultivation, storage, processing, and transportation. We start with our soil - we are stewards of 90 acres of rolling blackland prairie which is USDA Organic Certified. To our piece of earth we spray high quality aerated compost tea several times per year to keep a healthy herd of micro-organisms growing to cycle the precious nutrients into our grasses. We feed the biology in the soil with hydrolyzed fish, molasses, and humic acid several times each year as well. From that point on Mother Nature takes over. We are proud of our family farm and dedicated to producing the highest quality grass fed beef, feeds and eggs. We raise "solar-powered" animals as opposed to feedlot petroleum-based animals which take about 300 barrels of petroleum products to get to your table, and often travel over 2,000 miles to get there. We are serious about getting food to tables within 100 miles of our farm. Thank you, and we look forward to working with you in your organic endeavors!
