Alpaca Mining Company

Alpaca Mining Company is the home of the "green alpaca," in other words we operate organically and our alpacas produce a fiber which is earth-friendly, hypoallergenic, soft - not unlike cashmere - and warmer than sheep's wool. The focus of our current operation is the breeding of production type alpacas for the family farm and fiber producer. We extend our services to help new entrants into the alpaca industry find their foundation herd while mentoring them on the many aspects of alpaca farming, including husbandry, sales and marketing. We are located in a small community within a very green (for the high desert) valley which is one of the most productive ag producing areas in Nevada. We welcome guests to come and meet alpacas, nose to nose so you can enjoy these elegant and yet funny creatures up close and personal. We also offer, free, our "Guide to Alpaca Ownership" which can be sent by email, simply request a copy. The Guide is set up to answer many of the basic questions about alpaca farming/ranching, including such topics as climate, normal care, fencing, and shelter needs.
