Description
Est. 1972, Frog Holler Farm is a small-scale diverse vegetable farm specializing in organic culinary vegetables and herbs, along with garden starts. Since 1974 we have had a stall at the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market, and also sold from our farm, located west of Ann Arbor in the Irish Hills, MI. April 2020: the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is closed while the Coronavirus is still prevalent. We have established an online ordering system for our early garden starts for pickup from the farm or at a (tbd site) in Ann Arbor. You can access the online order form with descriptions of what we offer through our web site. We will also keep our web site updated as to where seedling orders can be picked up in Ann Arbor. We start our season with a large selection of vegetable and herb seedlings, many heirlooms, and selected for flavor and Northern growing conditions. We love to help folks get their gardens off to a good start and are happy to offer advice and suggestions. We begin harvesting produce in May, starting with spring greens, and continue to offer a wide selection of seasonal vegetables, some fruits, and our specialty salad mix right through October, and sometimes up until Thanksgiving. We are a family farm, owned and managed by Cathy King and three sons, Billy, Kenny and Edwin. We have had lots of help over the years from friends and young people interested in learning more about right livelihood and thoughtful growing practices. We like to build community through our regular customers at the Farmer's Market, our CSA members, and through regular Open House/Barn Dances at the farm. In 2007, we launched Holler Fest, a two-day celebration of local food, music and community. Holler Fest 2008 was expanded to three days and has become the highlight of the summer for many area residents. With over 75 musical acts, guided nature walks on our beautiful land, educational workshops, rustic camping in our open fields and wooded area, kids activities galore, local food vendors along with sumptuous fare from the Holler Kitchen, and unique craft vendors - there's something for everyone! Go to www.hollerfest.com for info and highlights. Holler Fest 2020: Aug. 21-23. Join us!
