Description
Hermit Thrush Homestead is a small organic farm in Halifax and Guilford, VT. We grow a wide variety of perennial fruits and berries, annual vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and specialize in growing food directly for our community through our summer and winter CSA. In addition to vegetables, we also raise laying hens, honey bees, and dairy goats. Meggie and Patrick live and work at the homestead full-time. Together, they have worked on over a dozen different farms around the country and they are now thrilled to be running their own small farm. They are dedicated to living sustainably on the planet, and working to produce top quality, local food year-round in New England is an integral part of the vibrant future they envision. In addition to agricultural production, they also practice natural building techniques, sustainable forestry, and non-violent communication-- a method of communication that involves non-judgement and empathic listening and reflection. ~CSA 2014~ We are currently accepting CSA members for the 2014 summer season. Visit our website or contact us for more information or to join now! ~Internship Opportunities~ We offer short-term and seasonal internship opportunities. If you are interested in an internship, please send an e-mail with a description of your background and interest in working at our homestead and we can go from there.
