Birdsong Farm is a 24 acre organic farm growing a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. I have been farming for twenty five years and moved from Maine to Ohio in 2009. I have made my living providing top quality produce to restaurants and vending at farmer's markets in coastal New England since 1995. Since 2010 I have had the pleasure of being a part of the local foods community in North East Ohio. At Birdsong Farm we currently have about 4 acres in production with another six acres in cover crops/fallow. We practice a very low/no till style of farming. We specialize in gourmet varieties of lettuce and greens, squash, and peas. We also grow a wide variety of root crops such as carrots, beets, turnips, and radishes. We grow four varieties of potatoes and at least six kinds of garlic. We also produce beans, tomatoes, cole crops, onions, cut flowers,and a long list of culinary herbs. We enjoy producing food in the shoulder seasons using row covers and high tunnels. We have been USDA certified organic through OEFFA since 2010.
