Common Thread is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm serving Central New York. CSA members can pick up their shares at the farm in Madison, 5 miles north of Colgate University, or at one of our pick up sites in Clinton, Dewitt, Fayetteville, Hamilton, Norwich, Oneida, Rome, Syracuse, and Utica. We have customized shares so CSA members can choose the vegetables they enjoy the most. We have standard and small share sizes shares as well as summer only shares, fall only shares, full season shares and a winter share. Pick your own crops such as cherry tomatoes, berries, cut flowers, beans, peas, and herbs are available to all CSA members. CSA members connect with the farm through our weekly CSA emails, farm events, pick your own, and of course, the weekly vegetable pick up. We use sustainable growing methods: planting cover crops, using compost and a 5 year crop rotation and never using synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizer, and no use of GMOs. All of the vegetables in our shares are grown on our farm in Madison. We grow a wide variety of crops including lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, potatoes, carrots, onions, kale, cilantro, arugula, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, eggplant, cabbages. cucumbers, zucchini, escarole, winter squash, garlic, beets, scallions and much more. We want the CSA to be accessible to all. We have a sliding scale payment system to make it easier for everyone to participate in the farm, and for those who need additional help, we have a sponsored share program. We also offer payment plans and the option to pay with EBT. Join us to enjoy fresh, tasty, healthy produce while making a commitment to support local, sustainable agriculture.
