Description
Book & Plow Farm is focused on serving Amherst College and the larger Five College community in the Pioneer Valley. It is an independent operation that collaborates with the college institution to sustain and nourish the academic community by providing high quality produce, to act as an educational resource through discourse and direct action around food, food security and sustainability and to act in the best interest of the natural ecosystem and replenish the soil for long term sustainability. The farm accepts interns, student workers, and work for bartering. Book & Plow farm grows a variety of vegetables and specializes in off-season or winter production. In addition, the farm grows grain, livestock, and tree crops.
