Clairmont Farm is a family owned lavender farm. Located in the Santa Ynez Valley in Los Olivos, California. There are five acres of the Grosso variety lavender, known for its oil production and hardiness. The fields are breathtakingly beautiful with the backdrop of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Three hundred year old oak trees dot the grounds. The driveway is lined with olive trees that were planted by the Spanish Missionaries over 175 years ago. The farm was a horse farm until the year 2000 when the lavender was planted. In addition to our essential oil which we distill here, we also offer a complete line of lavender based personal care products, homemade soaps, etc. loose lavender, dried lavender Located at 2480 Roblar Ave in Los Olivos, California, the farm in open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm daily. our products are also available online through our website. Distiller demonstrations take place each day with no charge. Visitors are welcome to stroll through the fields, picnic and shop in our boutique located next to the fields. Our farm is entirely organic. We harvest both with the traditional method of cutting each plant by hand, banding, and hanging the bunches,and also with a tea plucking machine from Japan. The mechanized cut is sun dried, thrashed, sifted and steam distilled in copper here on the farm. The resulting oil is organic, highly concentrated, and sweet because it has been made with low temperature in copper (see "distill process" on the "lavender info page for more information. Used for centuries, lavender is the best-known herb for its medicinal and healing properties. Many other species of lavender grow on the farm. Organic culinary lavender is also offered.
