Description
Our main-season vegetable shares emphasize staple crops, such as lettuce, carrots, zucchini, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, and green beans. Some more unusual crops, such as fennel and kohlrabi, are also offered for variety. Our winter shares are home-delivered twice a month. We take advantage of our mild winters to grow a wide range of fresh and storage vegetables. We also offer a "Fill Your Cellar" CSA for people who like to preserve and put up their own food. Depending on the year, the Fill Your Cellar share may include bulk amounts of beets, basil, pickling cucumbers, canning tomatoes, tomatillos, hot peppers, potatoes, cabbage, and winter squash. Preserving and storage crops can also be purchased individually at bulk pricing during the season. Finally, in 2020 we are excited offer a salad share for people wanting to get a bag of fresh, seasonal salad mix each week during the season (June-October). We use sustainable growing methods including crop rotation, drip irrigation, cover crops, responsible tillage, and natural amendments to improve the health of the soil, water, and ecosystem. Most of the farm work is done using people power. We never use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Several yearly work parties and open houses give friends and members the chance to experience the farm. Visit our website, www.fullcellarfarmoregon.com, for more information!
