Description

We are a market farm stand but are also selling "shares" or subscriptions to customers who want us to grow vegetables for them during the season. We grow the widest possible selection of food that we can on one acre, including: apples beans beets broccoli brussel sprouts cabbage carrots cantaloupe cauliflower celery celeriac chard cucumbers eggplants eggs flowers (glads-dahlias-sunflowers) garlic gourds greens herbs kale leeks lettuce onions parsley peppers potatoes pumpkins radish rhubarb scallions shallots squash (summer- winter-ornamental) tomatoes turnips. We practice responsible, traditional farming techniques, including building and maintaining healthy soils that will produce high-quality, local food for the surrounding community. Our methods include composting, mulching, crop rotation, and cover-cropping. the farm has cows, chickens, pigs, turkeys, and a horse to provide plenty of well-composted, aged fertilizer composted manure is used only on field crops. Vegetable compost is used on greens and root crops. We spray the apple orchard and use only minimal amounts of pesticides on crops when row covers fail. Most of the crops in the list do not require pesticides to grow.
