Al's Family Farms

Al's Family Farms is located in the historic, Big Red Barn on Kings Highway in Fort Pierce, Florida. (Take Interstate 95 to exit 131B and proceed north one mile on Kings Highway, also called State Road 713). A visit to Al's Family Farms today is a blast from the past, the way old Florida used to be. Back in the day, Kings Highway was wall to wall orange groves and citrus stands. Winter residents and tourists loaded their trunks with big bags of incredibly sweet, Indian River Fruit. Today nearly all of the fruit stands and packinghouses have disappeared, but not Al's! Clinging to old school values, we still do things the old fashioned way. Al's hand picks and gift packs the freshest fruit from local groves. Citrus, gift fruit and fresh squeezed juice is our specialty, but Jeff's wife, Sharon also makes incredible, homemade fudge. Al's Red Barn Grill features Angus cheeseburgers and authentic Mexican food too. Come take a guided tour of Al's Family Farms Historic Red Barn Packinghouse! Learn about Citrus, watch us wash, grade and pack fruit. Sample lots of fruit and fresh squeezed orange juice. Stop by the "OJ Corral", Agricultural Exhibit, Mini Orange Grove, Citrus maze, Raised Bed Citrus Bin Vegetable Garden, Old fashioned hand pump orange races, Hole in one mini golf and more. Kids, come pick oranges off our 'Lil Pickers trees. We pick, wash, grade and pack local Indian River Citrus. We juice some of the citrus to make our own Fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice. We grow several varieties of vegetables in authentic citrus bins, for folks to view. Al's offers free juice and fruit samples in our citrus shop, open Mondays through Fridays, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
