2015 CSA sign ups are underway! http://castlemainefarm.com/2014/11/24/now-taking-members-for-our-2015-veggie-csa/ Castlemaine Farm is located in the Snow Camp community of SW Alamance County, and 2015 will be our 12th growing season. In addition to offering CSA memberships, we are vendors at Carrboro and Durham farmer's markets and also sell our produce to local restaurants. We pride ourselves on giving our customers only the best produce from our fields. Freshness, quality and our dedication to sustainability are what separate us from the supermarkets and big box stores. We use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides or synthetic pesticides. We keep our soil healthy through crop rotation and cover cropping. We control weeds and pests primarily with our hands. In addition to standard varieties of produce we are always willing to try unusual & international varieties such as blue potatoes, red carrots, lemon-shaped cucumbers, kobocha squash, mizuna greens, Daikon radish, bok choy, tatsoi and kohlrabi, and of course a few different hierloom varieties of tomato every year.
