Description
Elsewhere Farm is located in northern Wisconsin, near the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore (of Lake Superior). We run a 20-week summer CSA from June through October, including fruit, veggies, eggs from our own chickens, and occasional cheese. We also feature a weekly winter CSA from December through March featuring fresh greens and storage crops like carrots, beets, squash, and onions, plus treats like apple cider and fresh eggs. We grow almost everything that goes in the box (we don't produce the cheese ourselves!) We specialize in perennial fruits as well, and have a market garden featuring heirloom and open-pollinated vegetable varieties. We farm using Permaculture principles and Organic standards, though we are not certified. This means no synthetic chemicals, attention to soil health and biodiversity, and minimal use of fossil fuels. You can buy our produce through one of our CSAs, or week-by-week on the farm. We have fresh eggs for sale on the farm and through our CSAs: the heritage and rare breed chickens are on pasture and are fed with certified organic feed. We also sell pork: whole or half pigs dress out between 90 and 120 pounds hanging weight and your purchase supports our breeding program for the rare breed American Guinea Hog. The pigs enjoy rotating through pastures and orchards and get a supplement of certified Organic grain, plus lots of petting.
