Family owned and operated, Bushel and a Peck Homestead is committed to building long lasting relationships with our customers, other farmers and community. We want to share the story of the food and the farmer when you invite us into your home by purchasing through us. Our Freedom Ranger broilers are raised naturally on pasture which is NOT sprayed and are moved daily to a new location. This allows them to dine on fresh grasses and bugs. Pasture is supplemented with locally sourced and milled feed which is certified organic and GMO free. We take the processing of our livestock seriously. We use a family owned facility which is USDA inspected and practices humane treatment. This commitment throughout brings the best to your family table. Currently, we offer whole broilers, split chicken(breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks), soup bones, chicken feet, organs, eggs, and rabbit. Last year we raised a few ducks for ourselves, but will be adding them to the homestead on a larger scale for meat and possible eggs. Turkey is available seasonally at this time. Thanksgiving 2016 we offered and sold out of our heritage breed turkeys. This year we will be offering standard broad breasted while we build a breeding flock of heritage breed turkeys. They, too, are pastured and supplemented with feed from the same mill as the broilers. Bushel and a Peck Homestead is excited at the prospect of offering pork(pastured w/supplemented grain from the same mill as the broilers) and lamb(grass fed) come late Fall 2017.
