Description

Chacha Community Kenya (CCK)is a Community Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya established in the year 2019 with the aim of helping the old, the disabled and the neediest members of the society. The project was founded by Erick Ochieng, David Otieno, Philip Ojwang, Joseph Pius and Ivan Michaels as a SELF-HELP GROUP.

Our objective was to make our society/community/village a better place. The founders, members and beneficiaries of this organization are spread all over the country. The main project site is situated in Kenya’s Nyanza Region, near Lake Victoria.

THE TEAM AND ACTIVITIES

We are a team of 5 leaders spread throughout Kenya, and we have a common goal of helping the select-group of the old, disabled and neediest people irrespective of their tribe, lineage or class. We have so far helped 36 households, with the basic needs including food, clothes, and shelter sometimes. Sometimes, we go as far as guiding and counseling the youth as well as those in marriage.

Apart from helping our select-group, we also practice permaculture and organic farming. Every co-founder (5) individuals have a project site in their regions, where they can train the locals about the importance of farming, modern agriculture, permaculture, mixed farming and all things agriculture.

The five regions are led by Erick Ochieng (Homa Bay County), David Otieno (Kisumu County), Philip Ojwang (Migori County), Joseph Pius (Nairobi County) and Ivan Michaels (Siaya County). We also provide the neediest locals with the produce from the farms.

Since the beginning, we have been saving money from our daily hassles to help with our project goals. All the co-founders have part-time employments and they jointly support the course.
