Description

The Doss family started in Portland, Oregon in the Mississippi neighborhood. Delighted with the locavore movement and slow, hand made foods in the Portland area we wanted to take part. Cooking isn't really our thing and farming is ingrained in our heritage; we moved to the Williamette valley to pasture some of the world's tastiest pork on our small family farm. We raise pastured pure heritage Mangalitsa pigs, pastured chickens, chicken eggs and duck eggs. Mangalitsa hogs don't grow fast, they don't do well in confinement and ours don't eat corn or soy. They love the outdoors and a varied diet of whole grains and rich, locally grown produce and nuts. We have a lot in common with these pigs and once we tasted the resulting meats we knew we'd found something special. As the first producers of pure bred Mangalitsa pork in Oregon we believe the best way to preserve this breed is to offer the final product to our local area's restaurants and direct to consumers. Roaming around all day getting fresh grubs, picking through the grass and scratching in the farm fresh dirt our poultry have the freedom and room to grow happily. It takes a little longer and that's ok with us, we'll wait. You won't find our product in the local supermarket, it's only available in the finest restaurants or directly through our farm by working with one of our custom processors. We believe this is the best food we've ever eaten and we guarantee you'll feel the same way. Reserve your chicken or pork today!
