We are Ron and Kathy Carpenter. We have owned a small farm in Canby, Oregon since 2001. At Carpenters Corner (also home of Ron The Tractor Guy) we strive to grow the healthiest, best tasting (not too fat and not too lean) beef for our customers. We produce market sized beef that is finished between 1000 and 1200 pounds. This beef will have a hanging weight between 550 and 700 pounds. We charge $3.70 a pound hanging weight. All of our cows are grass fed and live in a pasture. Most of our cows will have some grain as a freshly weaned calf to train and acclimate to new surroundings. We will also give grain or grass pellets to cows as we are finishing them, depending on the season. Our beef comes from healthy pastures. We raise our cows the old fashioned farm way: in a pasture with proper minerals, water, nutrients, and of course plenty of grass. They are all raised on good quality, locally grown, green grass in a pasture. We also feed them hay grown in our own pastures. Carpenters Corner leases over 100 acres to graze cattle and to grow local grass hay for harvest. Most of our customers purchase a 1/4 or a 1/2 cow. We help you order your beef by giving you tips and advice on your cuts and simply helping you anticipate the questions the butcher will ask. We use Sharps meat (formerly Vogets) in Hubbard Oregon. Sharps charges about .60 cents per pound for cut and wrap (plus a harvest fee of $37 per quarter). You are able to make many decisions about the cuts of your meat, the size of your packages and more. Carpenters Corner Beef is managed by Ron (the Tractor Guy) as he takes care all the pastures and the cows and much, much more. Field and pasture care are his specialty...and to raise Grass Fed Beef you must be a skilled grass farmer! Ron the Tractor Guy is owned and operated by Ron Carpenter and assisted by his wife Kathy.
