Description
Clay Hill Farm produces high quality, grass-fed and corn-finished Vermont-raised Angus beef and pasture-raised heritage breed pork. Clay Hill Farm all-natural meats are free of antibiotics, artificial hormones and GMOs. Meats are available frozen as quarters, halves and whole beef; half or whole pigs, and ground beef and steak value packages, that can be ordered online. Ground beef and steaks can also be purchased at the farm by appointment. When Guy Crosby purchased the property in 1985, he conserved it with the Vermont Land Trust, and renovated the original farmhouse and historic post and beam 100 x 30 ft barn, reclaimed and reseeded the fields, fenced 70 of their 95 acres, and added pole barns and run-in sheds. They now maintain a herd of about 40 animals to include 20 brood cows, their calves, and a registered Angus bull, plus another 25-40 feeder cattle purchased off the farm. During the growing season the cattle are moved on to fresh pasture every 24-48 hours to ensure optimum nutrition. Non-GMO corn silage raised on the farm is fed during the winter months to supplement a hay diet. This regime contributes to the juiciness and exceptional flavor that sets Clay Hill Farm beef apart from solely grass-fed beef.
