Description
EMMA Acres is a small family farm west of Ann Arbor that is committed to ethically raising healthy, delicious, and happy food for your family. This means that all of our animals are raised outside on verdant pastures. We specialize in pasture-raised heritage chicken, heritage pastured pork, eggs from free-range pastured hens, pastured ducks and geese, as well as 100% grass-fed and pasture-raised lamb and beef. We also grow a wide variety of beyond organic vegetables during the summer months. We practice regenerative agriculture whereby we improve our soil and farm ecosystem through our farming practices. We rotationally graze our animals in order to lock carbon in the soil, feed the soil microbes, and allow the pastures to rest for about 35 days before brining animals back to the same location. We do not use any pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers anywhere on our farm. We installed two large solar arrays in 2019 that provide 100% of our farm and personal electricity, which further reduces our farm's impact on our planet. You can be confident that we are doing everything possible to produce "clean" food that actually heals our world instead of damaging it. We seek to bring people back in touch with how their food should be raised. We value customer relationships and invite you to visit our farm! We are usually open one of the weekend days for a few hours. Please email me to be placed on our email list so you'll be notified of our open farm hours. We are also on facebook.
