Description
Here at Crooked Row Farm, we strive every day to raise our crops and livestock in a manner that allows each species the ability to express the characteristics that species has been blessed with. We raised pastured broilers, pastured eggs, pastured beef, pastured pork, and an assortment of seasonal vegetables. Though we are not deemed "organic" via government certifications, we feel that our products surpass such needed certifications. By allowing each plant and animal to fully express its individualism is the only way in which to produce the most healthy product on Earth. For example, our cattle are grazed on grass! Using rotational grazing methogs, our cattle are grouped together and moved every day to a fresh paddock of grass. Approx. 3 days later, our laying hens follow the cattle in order to sanitize behind the cattle by scratching through the manure patties and debugging the soil. Both the cattle and the chickens leave behind valuable nutrients via manure in which we plant our sweet corn and other vegetables. This drastically minimizes our fertilizer use and furthers our effort to eliminate synthetic inputs on the farm.
