Description
In the Spring of 2010 we planted 500 Triplecrown thornless blackberries. We chose Triplecrown because they are reputed to be one of the very best tasting blackberries. We have managed them organically, and in July, 2010 were certified to grow organic blackberries by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. After two disastrous winters and no crop for two seasons we stopped certifying our crop with the Kentucky Dept of Agriculture to save the certification fee, which is significant for our small operation. We still grow the berries by the organic method. The picking season will begin Tuesday, July 2. Please call 502-682-7988 to pick. Berries are $10/gal, $5/half-gallon for pick your own. We provide containers, cold water and a little shade. Children 5 and under pick a free pint with their own basket.
