Heartbeat grows food and teaches sustainable agriculture between Yellow Springs and Springfield. For over a decade, we've provided fresh vegetables to our community through a CSA. In 2016 we decided to start a small non-profit so we could add more educational programs. Our mission is to provide educational experiences in simple living, cooperative culture, and sustainable agriculture. We do this through our farmer training program, community workshops, and CSA. We try to align our growing methods with natural processes as much as possible, relying on organic fertilizers and pest control, minimizing soil disturbance, rotating crops, and including perennial polycultures.
